Luke 7:48
Then He said to [him], “Your sins are forgiven.”
My name is Chris, and I'm a Christian. God has plans for me, and I see them unfolding almost daily. I am always open to pray or help in any way I can. I am God's tool, and He will use me justly.

There are several posts going around tumblr about girls and their looks and what society tells them to look like. It seems to me that no one ever really notices how society tells guys to look like. Mainly because guys aren’t known for being “abused” about how they look as much as girls are; but guys still deal with it.
Society makes it seem like that in order for a guy to be an “attractive, sexy” man, in the world’s eyes, he needs to have a nice tan, good-looking hair, and an extremely ripped body. News flash: not all guys look like this. I certainly don’t. I’m a scrawny white guy who weights 134 lbs and can barely do 30 push ups. Does that make me unattractive? Unfortunately in some peoples’ eyes, it does.
However, I’m starting to work out more. And this semester, several of us in my dorm are going to get in better shape because we now have a guy living with us that knows how to work out and get results. But am I going to be working out because it will make me look hotter/sexier/more attractive to society? No! I’m doing this for me and to take better care of my body. Now is it a perk that I’ll finally look at least some-what decent at the beach? Yes it is, but I hope that it’s understood that that’s not my reasoning for wanting to get in shape.
The Bible tells us the our body is a temple, and that when we respect our body, we respect what God has given us. So by eating healthier and working out to get in shape, I’m respecting my body and in turn, respecting God.
But overall, just because a guy doesn’t have a nice tan or a killer six-pack doesn’t mean he isn’t attractive. Ladies, remember that for us guys who look like toothpicks. It’d make us feel a little bit better.
